Advantages/Features
» High strength - roughly twice the yield strength of standard
austenitic stainless steels
» Superior resistance to general corrosion in most media over
316L or 317L
» Higher resistance to stress corrosion cracking than 316L or
317L
» Higher resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting than 316L
» Better corrosion fatigue resistance than standard austenitic
grades
» Lower coefficient of thermal expansion and higher thermal
conductivity than austenitic grades
» Excellent choice for chloride bearing environments
» Good sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance
» High resistance to erosion
» Excellent toughness
» Good machinability and weldability
Durralex®
Two-phase (duplex) ferritic/austenitic stainless steel shafting material. Designed for applications where high strength and corrosion resistance are required.
General Information
Durralex® is a two-phase (duplex) ferritic/austenitic
stainless steel designed to combine improved resistance
to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice
corrosion with high strength when compared to standard
austenitic stainless steels. Durralex® is available for
prompt delivery in the hot rolled, rough turned, solution
annealed condition.
