Lean Manufacturing
new facility
As part of our Continuous Improvement Initiative, a team of Tricon employees recently assembled to review and improve our Super-C® manufacturing process. In several Kaizen* events, the team (consisting of employees from every department) evaluated our current shop layout, processes, product movement and procedures. Their goals were to create the most efficient layout of our clad equipment and identify and eliminate waste. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of Super-C® and reduce the lead time to produce a plate. The equipment layout design and many suggestions for improvement were reviewed and implemented immediately.

Tricon is committed to training and implementing the philosophy of Continuous Improvement throughout every aspect of our operation. Upcoming Kaizen events will focus on improvements in our Fabrication Department, Machine Shop and various warehousing operations.

Tricon is still in the early stages of measuring the increase in productivity and efficiency resulting from the Super-C® Kaizen events, but the early results appear promising. We welcome you to tour and review our newly redesigned Super-C® production facility and invite you to join us with a first hand examination of this accomplishment.

* Kaizen is a Japanese word that means continuous improvement.
