Moscow, June 2008 – Kennametal, a worldwide leading supplier of tooling solutions, engineered components, advanced materials for manufacturing processes, welcomed about 90 guests in the Le Meridian National hotel in Moscow at the end of May. Many customers and numerous Russian journalists accepted the invitation for the festive evening event at the Metalloobrabotka exhibition.

Last year, Kennametal founded its own sales subsidiary in Moscow, which presented itself for the first time with its own booth at the Metalloobrabotka. In the past, Kennametal had only been represented by its dealers on this important international exhibition for equipment, devices and tools of the metalworking industry.

During the evening event, Dr. Kemal Yegenoglu, President Europe, said: "The Russian market shows a very high growth rate and Kennametal will increasingly focus on this region in the future. That means that we are celebrating today not only the one-year anniversary of our subsidiary, but at the same time the beginning of a further stage of extension of our presence in this region."

Furthermore, Mr Gerald Goubau, Managing Director Sales & Service MSSG Europe, emphasized: "We are firmly convinced that through our power of innovation and technological leadership, we will generate an important added value for the customers in Russia. We focus on delivering high quality Kennametal products and services here at the fair and every day in our work."

The great interest and positive feedback of the customers at the event confirmed once more the increasing attention which is given to Kennametal in Russia.
