Kevin G. Nowe is Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel.  In this position, he has overall legal responsibility for the company and its legal department and serves as secretary to the Board of Directors.

Kevin joined Kennametal in 1992. In his previous role as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, he was also responsible for legal direction of global mergers and acquisitions, as well as legal support of environmental, health and safety efforts.

Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Nowe served 13 years with Marathon Oil Company, in several senior management positions.  Most recently, he was Senior Marketing Counsel, in Enon, Ohio, where he was responsible for all legal matters of Emro Marketing Company which had $2.5 billion in sales and 1,500 employees. 

Mr. Nowe received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and journalism from the University of Pittsburgh; his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University; and his executive MBA from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.  Mr. Nowe is a member of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI Law Council II and Ethics and Compliance Council. He and his wife reside in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, with their two sons.
